Ventile has announced partnerships with Ravensbourne University in London and the Swiss Textile College (STF) in Zurich, focusing on inspiring future designers and highlighting the significance of sustainable fabric choices.
Building on its commitment to supporting education and emerging talent, Ventile will collaborate with Ravensbourne’s BA (Hons) Fashion programme and the STF to promote informed decisions about fabric quality and durability. Through workshops, Ventile and university lecturers will offer industry insights, underscoring the impact of fabric selection on sustainable fashion.
As part of the Ravensbourne partnership, Ventile is sponsoring an Outerwear Competition. This project challenges students to develop innovative concepts for outerwear, balancing design creativity, technical textile properties, and environmental impact. The winning garment will be professionally produced using Ventile fabric.
Simultaneously, Ventile will support STF’s Sustainable Engineering Process module for 2024. The partnership includes an exclusive masterclass at Ventile’s Zurich HQ, where students will gain hands-on experience in sustainable fabric innovation, from raw material sourcing to advanced textile engineering.
“In a world where sustainability has become an increasingly important aspect of design and production, initiatives like these reflect our long-standing dedication to quality and innovation as well as our commitment to nurturing the next generation of industry leaders,” said Ventile Brand Director Daniel Odermatt. “At Ventile, we are passionate about supporting emerging designers. Collaborating with academic institutions gives us the opportunity to empower students and push the boundaries of what is possible to shape a more responsible industry.”
This announcement follows Ventile’s ongoing support of new talent. In 2023, the brand collaborated with Alessandro Tondolo on his award-winning Coharesco Collection, showcased at Somerset House during London Fashion Week.
