Türkiye’s steel manufacturer Saritas Celik Sanayi has initiated a significant investment [1] in integrated stainless steel production, to enhance the country’s export capabilities and reduce dependency on imported materials.
The new facility, located in the Yalova Machinery Specialized Organized Industrial Zone, will be developed in multiple phases, with full operational capacity anticipated by 2030. The first two phases, currently under construction, will focus on cold rolling operations and are expected to be completed by 2027, resulting in an increase of 400,000 tons in annual production and the creation of 500 new jobs. Subsequent expansion will include a hot rolling plant, planned for 2028, followed by an on-site melting facility in 2030, ultimately increasing the workforce to 700 employees.
The company has integrated sustainability and technological advancements into its investment strategy, incorporating energy-efficient systems, automation, digital traceability, and recycling measures to align with Türkiye’s environmental goals. The facility will operate in conjunction with the company’s existing processing center in Gebze, which currently employs 350 people and has a production capacity of 750,000 tons.
Chairman Ercument Saritas underscored the significance of the initiative, emphasizing that industrial sovereignty relies on fully integrated facilities capable of processing their raw materials. He highlighted the company’s six-decade legacy and its global reach, exporting to 74 countries. Serving key industries such as white goods, automotive, energy, and defense, Saritas Celik continues to pursue growth through production, investment, and strategic partnerships, reinforcing Türkiye’s reputation in the international steel market.
