Tivolt Electric Vehicles Collaborates with Tata Power to Amplify Commercial Vehicles’ EV Charging Network

, part of the Murugappa Group’s TI Clean Mobility division, has got together with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) to advance EV charging infrastructure for commercial vehicles across India. The two companies penned a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to leverage Tata Power’s proficiency in EV charging and Tivolt’s expanding presence in the electric small commercial vehicle market.

With the presence of Shivram Bikkina, Chief of Solar Rooftop & EV Charging at Tata Power, the MoU was formalized by Saju Nair, CEO of Tivolt Electric Vehicles, and Virendra Goyal, Head of EV Charging Business Development at Tata Power. As part of this collaboration, Tata Power will develop and deploy EV charging solutions at Tivolt dealerships, customer sites, and key public areas.

Having the experience in installing more than 200 customized charging stations across 100+ cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, Tata Power will ensure accountable and well located charging options for commercial EV users. The partnership will also look into integrating solar-powered systems at Tivolt dealerships and customer sites to lower charging costs and minimise carbon footprints, promoting sustainable and cost-effective EV adoption.

Saju Nair pointed out the significance of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration with Tata Power is a significant step in accelerating EV infrastructure development, offering clean and sustainable mobility solutions to our customers.”

Deepesh Nanda, CEO & MD of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, further added, “Working with Tivolt will strengthen the EV ecosystem for small and commercial vehicles, accelerating their adoption and supporting India’s transition to greener energy.”

Tivolt Electric Vehicles, through its Montra Electric brand, concentrates on innovative and sustainable solutions for light commercial vehicles, guaranteeing reliability and efficiency. Meanwhile, Tata Power’s EZ Charge network already covers 530 cities, with more than 100,000 home chargers, 6,500 public charging points, and 1,100 bus charging stations.

The collaboration between Tivolt and Tata Power aims to develop a convenient, cost-effective, and eco-friendly charging network, pusing India’s shift toward a cleaner, greener transportation future.
