This is Free Fashion: Dutch Brand Redefining the Concept of ‘Fast Fashion’

‘This is free fashion’ is a new Dutch fashion brand that provides free clothes through pop-up shops set up in various cities of Dutch. This is Free Fashion is supported by funding from several towns and operates with the help of volunteers, but it also generates revenue through a crowdfunding platform called Steunactie. The firm’s goal is to give apparel a second life and demonstrate that it does not always need to be brand new. By the end of the year, they expect to rehome 10,000 items of clothing. And not by selling them, but by offering them for free.

Clothing plays a crucial role in our daily lives, but also in our future,” said Dieuwertje. “With FREE fashion we show how much beautiful clothing is already available. If you ask us, it is incomprehensible that we keep buying new items, which causes the fast fashion industry to grow.

It offers the option of setting up a clothing cart in company headquarters or organizing a pop-up store during an event, with pricing ranging from 600 to 2,000 euros. In addition, the selling of T-shirts featuring the brand’s emblem produces additional revenue. Their most recent pop-up shop was a huge success and was located in the Dutch city of Tilburg. On November 29, they created a second pop-up store in Amstelveen, a city in the country near the capital, after surpassing their goal of delivering 10,000 products.
