Sustainable Colour, Circular Solutions

Re-Matters Textile Recycling Solutions is expanding its circular solutions network through a strategic partnership with COLOURizd, a sustainable textile colouration technology firm. The collaboration will promote QuantumCOLOUR, a process that colours recycled materials without bleaching or colour removal, preserving fibre integrity while enhancing yarn properties like strength, reduced pilling, and decreased hairiness. Remarkably, it uses only 1 litre of water per kilogram of yarn and generates zero wastewater.
“This partnership is a perfect fit, uniting two forward-thinking companies committed to sustainability,” said Jennifer Thompson, CEO of COLOURizd. “By combining COLOURizd’s technology with Re-Matters’ expertise in circular value streams, we can offer manufacturers a sustainable solution that lowers environmental impact while improving product performance and quality.”
The denim industry is increasingly adopting QuantumCOLOUR. Last year, COLOURizd and Archroma partnered to allow mills and brands to use Archroma’s dyes alongside QuantumCOLOUR, producing high-performance textiles. Cone Denim, for instance, utilises this technology for its forest green selvedge fabrics, achieving resource savings including 98% less water, 50% less energy, zero wastewater, and a 73% reduction in carbon footprint compared to traditional reactive dye processes.
Founded in 2023, Re-Matters draws on over 40 years of expertise from its parent company, Ereks Blue Matters, to provide consultancy and engineering services to the textile supply chain. The Turkish firm helps organisations minimise their environmental impact through tailored solutions focused on reduction, reuse, recycling, and regeneration.
“We are thrilled to partner with COLOURizd, whose innovative dyeing technology aligns perfectly with our mission to foster a circular textile economy,” said Romain Narcy, CEO of Re-Matters. “In today’s world, sustainability isn’t just an option—it’s an imperative.” (1)
