Silfab Solar Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance PV modules, has announced a multi-year partnership with Pivot Energy [1], a national renewable energy provider. The agreement entails Silfab supplying 350 megawatts (MW) of commercial PV modules over a two-year period, starting in the second quarter of this year.
The partnership is part of Silfab’s strategy to support the growing demand for sustainable energy in the U.S. Pivot Energy will use these American-made modules to develop community solar projects across the country. The modules, known as the 580 XM+, will be produced at Silfab’s new and advanced production facility in South Carolina.
Paolo Maccario, President and CEO of Silfab, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the superior efficiency and performance of their next-generation panels. Richard Gilker, SVP of Technical Operations at Pivot Energy, emphasized that the high-quality modules will help meet the domestic content requirements for their projects.
Silfab recently secured $100 million in new financing to scale its solar cell operations at the South Carolina facility, which will have an initial annual capacity of 1 gigawatt of solar cells and 1.3 gigawatts of modules. The company also operates a large production facility in Washington with a capacity of 1.1 gigawatts.
This partnership underscores Silfab’s commitment to leading the U.S. manufacturing of solar cells and modules, leveraging over 40 years of solar experience and best-in-class technologies. The collaboration with Pivot Energy is expected to contribute significantly to the development of sustainable energy infrastructure in the U.S.
