During the Future Investment Initiative conference held in Riyadh from October 29 to 31, Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister, Abdul Aziz Bin Salman, announced the country’s position as the leading producer of green and clean hydrogen, ready to export it globally.
Salman emphasized the nation’s strategy to diversify its economy, enhance value, ensure supply chain flexibility, and create job opportunities through a circular carbon economy.
Since 2020, Saudi Arabia has generated 44 gigawatts of renewable energy, a capacity that he noted is equivalent to roughly half of the total installed capacity in the UK. He asserted that the nation is poised to be a primary financial beneficiary of the ongoing energy transition.
With its commitment to diversifying its economy and significant investments in renewable energy, Saudi Arabia is establishing itself as a global leader in the production and export of green hydrogen. [1]
