The Madhya Pradesh Textile Mills Association has proposed measures to make the upcoming PM MITRA Park in Dhar district more appealing for industrial investment as well as sustainable development. The association has urged to incorporate renewable energy sources like solar or wind power to make the park eco-friendly and self-sustaining. They advocate for systems to eliminate or significantly reduce waste production, aligning the park with global sustainability practices.
The association underlined the importance of creating a green space in PM MITRA Park in order to attract international investment. In a memorandum to Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh, they proposed developing a single window system to speed up the investment process for enterprises looking to establish in the park. According to the group, a single point of contact for all clearances is required, and they support the park’s designation as a green zone. This will allow investors to focus on their primary company without having to deal with bureaucratic barriers.
The association also suggested adopting a plug-and-play model, complemented by on-site infrastructure, skill development programs, and dormitory facilities, to support the textile sector and attract small-scale investors. Industry representatives noted that the technology upgrade program, active since 1998 with periodic revisions, ended in March 2022. Since its conclusion on March 31, 2022, the modernization and technological advancement of the textile industry have slowed. Therefore, they emphasized the urgent need for the announcement of a new scheme to address this gap.
