Posti and Nanso Partner for Circular Fashion Initiative

Posti, Finland’s leading postal and logistics company, and Nanso, a Finnish fashion brand, have joined forces in a circular economy initiative aimed at extending the lifespan of clothing and reducing textile waste. This collaboration addresses the growing consumer demand for sustainable solutions and the increasing regulatory pressure on businesses to adopt eco-friendly practices.

Posti is committed to promoting the circular economy by offering innovative solutions that support sustainable development. A key example of this commitment is their partnership with Nanso on the ‘Uusi Elämä’ (New Life) collection. This collection features new, slightly defective, and used clothes in good condition that have been returned. Defects can range from minor issues, such as makeup stains from online returns.

“The circular economy and the maximum service life of products are key parts of our sustainability work. Every Nanso product is designed to stand the test of time. That is why we are also looking at extending the life cycle of products that would not be suitable for sale or use as such due to some defect,” said  Jenni Homer, Director, Retail & eCom at Nanso.

The process involves refurbishing these items at Posti’s logistics center in Pennala, where all Nanso products are stored. Used clothes undergo a rigorous inspection and cleaning process before being made available for sale in selected Nanso stores. This collaboration allows Nanso to extend the lifecycle of their products, minimize waste, and tap into new business opportunities.

Posti also provides Nanso with valuable data on the types of repairs needed and the product categories being refurbished. This information helps Nanso gain insights into product quality and potential areas for improvement. For consumers, this collaboration means access to more sustainable fashion choices without compromising on quality or style. This partnership showcases how logistical expertise and fashion industry knowledge can combine to create a more circular and sustainable economy.
