Nexamp, a leading developer of community solar projects, has partnered once again with Walmart to develop 31 new community solar projects [1] across five states in the United States: Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Illinois, and Minnesota. This partnership aims to generate over 120 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy, providing substantial benefits to local communities.
The collaboration focuses on expanding access to affordable, clean energy for thousands of households and businesses. Through these community solar projects, residents can enjoy the advantages of solar energy without needing rooftop installations, which translates to lower utility bills and annual savings exceeding $2 million.
In addition to environmental benefits, these projects are expected to create more than 1,500 jobs during construction and ongoing operations. This will boost local economies and support job creation. This new initiative builds on a previous collaboration between Nexamp and Walmart in 2021, which resulted in the development of 23 community solar projects in New York.

The new community solar projects are expected to begin going online in mid-2025 and continue into 2026, furthering Walmart’s commitment to sustainability and renewable energy. This partnership underscores the importance of collaboration in achieving renewable energy goals and promoting a cleaner, more sustainable future.
