Jiwya, a sustainable fashion brand has launched a new collection made from 100 percent plant-based materials titled Rivayat.
In line with its dedication to sustainability, Jiwya’s new collection showcases over 100 Indigenous art techniques, such as handwoven textiles, detailed hand embroidery, hand block printing, and hand painting. Every piece is crafted for versatility, offering custom creations, intended to be worn and treasured for years. The color scheme draws inspiration from the beauty of nature, featuring earthy browns, soft periwinkles, delicate aboli oranges, rich Kaner yellows, and vibrant henna greens.
Customization is an important aspect of “Rivayat,” with garments produced on demand and tailored to individual tastes. The collection also offers a thoughtfully selected array of wall art and home décor, made from fabrics that are not suitable for clothing, furthering the brand’s dedication to sustainable artistry.
Committing to its sustainable practices, Jiwya stated, “Our yarns, colours and designs are 100% plant-based. They come from and return to the soil following a bio-circular fashion economy. We upcycle every scrap from our garment production into embellishments, accessories, and fixtures. Our chemistry-backed processes use only plants to derive soothing shades that use 1/10th the water compared to conventional textile processes. The used water later feeds our garden soil. We believe in the power of human hands and their intimate connection to soil. Our products are handmade and as a base practice, we pay a dignified wage, which is about 15-20% higher than industry standards.”
Thanks to Jiwya’s partnerships with well-known marketplaces in Los Angeles, London, and Europe, “Rivayat” is now accessible everywhere. The brand’s commitment to environmentally friendly fashion is demonstrated by its adherence to Global Sustainability Quotient criteria. With a bio-circular fashion lifecycle that uses a tenth of the water needed by traditional methods, Jiwya only employs yarns and colors made entirely of plants.
