Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake is set to host “Secondhand & Sustainable: The Ultimate Wardrobe Refresh Workshop” this April, aiming to promote sustainable living through practical fashion knowledge. The event, scheduled for Saturday, April 19, 2025, will take place simultaneously at locations in Ellicott City and Towson, Maryland.
The workshop’s agenda is designed to provide attendees with comprehensive skills for extending the life of their clothing. Participants will engage in four 30-minute interactive sessions covering essential topics such as effective stain removal techniques, proper clothing preservation methods, innovative upcycling strategies, and mindful sustainable shopping practices.
In Ellicott City, the event will feature volunteers from the Howard County Repair Café, who will offer expert guidance on clothing alterations and creative upcycling projects. Meanwhile, in Towson, attendees may benefit from sustainability tips and insights shared by representatives from the Station North Tool Library, further enhancing the workshop’s educational value.
Beyond the practical skills, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in prize drawings, with chances to win Goodwill gift cards and exclusive discounts. Additionally, sustainable laundry kits will be distributed, reinforcing the event’s commitment to environmentally responsible practices. This workshop not only supports Goodwill’s mission of sustainability but also empowers individuals to adopt more eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
