The Forbes Middle East Sustainability Leaders Summit 2024 was graced by a stunning sustainable fashion show, which highlighted the innovative designs of the region’s leading fashion creatives and various eco-friendly collections, emphasizing the importance of sustainability.
The two-day summit included informative panels discussing sustainable practices, technological advancements, renewable energy solutions, circular economy all aimed at fostering a comprehensive understanding of sustainability. The summit was made possible through partnerships with prominent organizations, including NMDC Group, Abu Dhabi Chamber, and the Zayed Sustainability Prize, alongside a multitude of event, wellness, and food partners.
Designers Rami Kadi, Nemer Saade, Temraza, Sara Onsi, Reborn, French Dandy, and Dunsei, featured luxurious pieces crafted with a unique take on haute couture, marrying craftsmanship with a commitment to environmental stewardship.
Some designers used eco- friendly materials and some others promoted sustainability through their ethical practices like recycling, upcycling and so on. The event highlights the importance of conscious consumerism and the shared responsibility of fashion designers to strive for better sustainable practices without impacting the quality of their work.
As Temraza stated,“Sustainable fashion is not just a passing trend—it’s a responsibility that brands like ours must uphold to ensure a positive, lasting impact on both the environment and society. By embracing sustainability, we are crafting a future where fashion not only respects the planet but also empowers women to take control of their narratives, express themselves confidently, and contribute to global progress.”
As the fashion industry continues to evolve, this event serves as a clarion call for responsible consumption and innovative design that respects both style and the environment. [1]
