Two workers were injured and 4 others were trapped after a chimney collapsed at a steel plant in Chhatisgarh, report says.
The incident occured during the afternoon hours in the plant situated in saragaon area, said the superintendent of police Bhojram patel.
“We received information that part of the chimney, and silo collapsed at the smelting plant, and some laborers got trapped underneath. Personnel from almost all departments are here, and 3-4 people could be possibly trapped here. The situation would be clear after the removal of material,” Mungeli SP Bhojram Patel said.
The injured has been reported to be sent to Bilaspur for medical treatment.
Mungeli collector Rahul Doe said the NDRF team has joined the rescue operations.
“Rescue operation is ongoing in full swing. The SDRF team has also reached here. We have strong manpower as well as required machinery,” he said.
