Spain-based Brenmiller Europe S.L., a joint venture established to accelerate the commercial rollout of bGen™ thermal energy storage technology across Europe, has appointed Emilio Lopez [1] as its new Board Chairman.
Emilio Lopez brings over 25 years of executive leadership experience in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors. His extensive expertise spans multiple countries, including Spain, Portugal, the USA, the UK, and Uruguay1. Lopez has successfully navigated all aspects of the value chain, from origination and development to financing, construction, and operation of energy assets.
The appointment of Lopez is seen as a strategic move to drive product sales, deliver energy services, and secure project-level financing in high-growth markets. Brenmiller Europe benefits from the expertise of its joint venture partners, Green Enesys and Viridi, in developing and deploying large-scale clean energy projects throughout Europe.

The joint venture is focused on leveraging the supportive regulatory and financing environment in Europe to rapidly adopt thermal energy storage systems. This move is expected to significantly contribute to the company’s growth and the advancement of sustainable energy solutions in the region.
