Armedangels and Wikipedia Collaborate on Sustainable Fashion Line Promoting Free and Open Information

German sustainable fashion label Armedangels has partnered with the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization behind Wikipedia, for a new capsule collection that highlights the importance of free and open access to information and sustainable practices. The collaboration, titled “For Fact’s Sake: Think Responsibly,” combines fashion with a message of environmental and social responsibility.

The limited-edition collection features t-shirts, hoodies, and caps made from 100% recycled cotton. This aligns with Armedangels’ commitment to environmental responsibility throughout its production processes. The clothing incorporates Wikipedia’s iconic symbols and slogans, emphasizing the power of knowledge and circularity. A portion of the sales will directly support Wikipedia, ensuring the platform remains independent, open, and accessible to everyone.

This collaboration addresses the growing concern of misinformation and promotes the importance of fact-checked, reliable sources. Armedangels, known for its commitment to sustainable materials and fair trade practices, sees Wikipedia as a valuable resource for transparent and accurate information, particularly in an industry where terms like “sustainability” can be misleading.

The collection uses innovative technology, such as RCO100® by Säntis Textiles, which allows for the creation of clothing from 100% post-consumer recycled cotton without blending it with virgin fibers. This collaboration demonstrates how the fashion industry can promote both environmental sustainability and access to reliable information.
