Adani wins 2,250 MW Gandikota-2 pumped storage allocation in India

Andhra Pradesh’s State Investment Promotion Board, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, on May 20, 2026 allocated the 2,250 MW Gandikota-2 pumped storage project to Adani Hydro Energy Eleven, a subsidiary of the Adani Group.

The project, sited at the Lord Balaji Donthi Kona PSP Park in YSR Kadapa district, has a 72-month construction window and is allocated 29.20 million cubic metres of water for initial filling plus 2.20 MCM/year for evaporation losses. It forms part of Andhra Pradesh’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy targeting roughly Rs 10 trillion of clean-energy investment.
