ACWA Power Signs Key Agreements with Aramco to Drive Renewable Energy and Innovation in Saudi Arabia

ACWA Power, a Saudi Arabia based leading developer of power and water solutions, has signed several key agreements [1] with Saudi Aramco to drive renewable energy and innovation in Saudi Arabia. These agreements were announced during ACWA Power’s flagship Innovation Days 2025 event in Riyadh.

The partnerships focus on advancing renewable energy deployment and green hydrogen production in the Kingdom. One of the major projects involves the development of an Advanced Photovoltaic (PV) Energy Forecasting system that leverages big data analytics and machine learning to improve solar energy generation predictions. This initiative aims to optimize grid stability, energy dispatch, and microgrid energy management.

Another significant agreement focuses on the systematic assessment and reliability testing of utility-scale vanadium flow battery (VFB) technology under local climate conditions. This project addresses the challenges of long-duration energy storage and supports the integration of renewable energy sources for applications such as water desalination.

These collaborations underscore ACWA Power’s commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals, which aim to diversify the economy and reduce dependence on oil. By investing in cutting-edge technologies and renewable energy solutions, ACWA Power and Aramco are paving the way for a more resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure in the region.
