A Landmark of Sustainability

Landmark Group has taken a significant step towards sustainability with the launch of Landmark Circulife, the Middle East’s first textile recycling facility, located near Dubai World Central. The facility was inaugurated by the UAE Minister of Economy, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, alongside Landmark Group Chairwoman Renuka Jagtiani, in the presence of key figures from the UAE Circular Economy Council and the retail sector.

The state-of-the-art facility aims to transform discarded textiles into high-value recycled fibres, suitable for use in products ranging from clothing to home furnishings. With an initial processing capacity of 2,000 metric tonnes annually, Landmark Circulife is set to make a substantial environmental impact by reducing reliance on virgin materials and diverting thousands of tonnes of textile waste from landfills.

By 2050, Landmark Group aspires to become a climate-positive company, embedding sustainable practices throughout its value chain. Speaking at the launch, Renuka Jagtiani emphasised the facility’s role in fostering circularity within the fashion and textile industries, creating a closed-loop system to repurpose used textiles for the benefit of both the environment and the wider community.

Landmark Circulife aligns closely with the UAE’s Circular Economy Policy, which seeks to minimise waste, optimise resource usage, and promote sustainability across all sectors. The facility is expected to process 11,000 metric tonnes of textiles annually—approximately 5% of the UAE’s total textile waste—with plans for further expansion.
Beyond waste reduction, Landmark Circulife will significantly contribute to environmental conservation by reducing CO2 emissions by an estimated 140,000 metric tonnes, saving 107 GWh of electricity, and conserving millions of litres of water. These efforts position it as a cornerstone of the UAE’s sustainability agenda.

Landmark Group, a multinational conglomerate based in Dubai, UAE, was founded by Micky Jagtiani, who served as its founder and chairman. The Group operates across diverse sectors, including retail, hospitality, and healthcare. Its retail portfolio spans apparel, footwear, consumer electronics, cosmetics, beauty products, home improvement, and baby products.
